SATURDAY SNAPSHOTS

By Maiju Saha on 7.4.2012

Hi! Some snapshots from our kitchen – the sun was shining so nicely that I wanted to take some photos. I hope you´ve enjoyed your Easter so far, we were out partying last night so this day will start with pizza 🙂

I treated myself with the Finnish mämmi,
don´t ask what it is – it´s way too excotic to explain…

You have a great sense of design and style. The rooms are young and chic! Do you know if the furniture and decorations can be purchased/made at a low cost? In addition, chalk board paint is a fun unique idea! Where did you get the paint? All in all, very inspiring interiors!

Hi Jenny and thank you for your kind words! Our kitchen table is an antique one and so are the chairs. Similar ones are available for 20 euros and up at least here in Finland. Also the white wooden sofa is from the 20ties. The black cupboard is from Ikea. Lamps are vintage/from Paris. The rest is pretty much 2nd hand. What else – yes the paint, I´ve bough it from a Finnish hardware store K-Rauta.

Hi! I’m a new reader to your blog! Love it! I’ve been looking for a piece like the black with glass doors, is that what you call cupboard? I had a sense I had seen a very similar/the same at IKEA but can’t find it on the homepage now =( Do you remember the name of it?

Hi Lina, yes the black cupboard is from Ikea. It´s name is Linnarp – here is a link: http://www.ikea.com/se/sv/catalog/categories/series/12201/. What you see in the picture is only the ”closet” itself, you must buy the doors aswell. They are sold separately.
